Behind the Bloom: Developing New Gift Products + Stamps

Hi Friends! I’m so grateful you’ve stopped by. Today, I’m sharing a little behind the scenes look into some new things I’m working on and sharing a bit of insight.

Inspired by You Notecard Set: COMING VERY SOON!

Inspired by You Card Set

Here’s a look at a final prototype of my new notecard set. It’s called “Inspired by You” and I cannot wait to launch it in my shop. I’ll bet you didn’t know… I custom design notecard sets for many customers and I ❤️ it so much. I decided it was time to create and manufacture a set of cards with my original watercolor art that makes people feel good sending and receiving. This is the first in a line of sets I hope to release regularly.

Sneakie Peek at the Back of the Box

Inspired by You Card Collection⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s exciting creating a physical product from scratch. There are so many considerations and sometimes (a lot of times) the prototypes I create don’t make the cut. I’m excited for this first collection heading off to the printer in a few days.

Here are the details:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Set of 8 notecards with envelopes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Two of each design⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. There are 4 designs total⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Beautifully packaged in a clear box ready to go!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. They will sold in my online stores, local shops, and the upcoming Carroll Arts Center Gallery of Gifts show.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sketchbook Sneak Peek: The Making of a Stamp Set

Here’s a little behind the scenes into my sketchbook. I have a lot of sketchbooks going at the same time ?, but this one is for designing Gina K Designs stamps. Each stamp design starts as a tiny thumbnail sketch where I work out ideas, proportions and thoughts on how all the pieces connect. I’ll add color and imagine how each element would look when you stamp it on your card or papercrafting project.
Sketchbook PeekThis process helps me create an entire set that is cohesive. Then, I draw it “for reals.” All images are drawn by hand into the computer or iPad. Then, I work on proportion, scale and all the details, imagining each possible configuration for the images. Versatility is important to me because I want you to experience the most JOY possible when creating with your hands. Often I will noodle through ideas in layers in proportion to an A2 sized card so I can see exactly how the images will work together.

Let’s see who made it this far ? There are some sneekies on this page into my November release. My next stamp set (not shown here) release will be in September.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek into what’s been going on behind the bloom! I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a comment and let me know what you think. So grateful you stopped by!

May you find pause from the hustle, and pure joy in the making.
