Project Inspiration
Melanie Muenchinger has designed a new set in her Stately Flowers releases and this one is all about the violets and lilacs. I love, puffy heart love flowers, all of them, and this set is gorgeous. With many combinations for stamping all of your favorite projects, this set is sure to become a favorite.
Watercolor is my jam! So… in this project, I decided to mix it up a bit and use the flower stamps with distress oxide inks to created watercolor effects. I stamped the flower cluster image down on watercolor paper in a light ink and then using a waterbrush and distress oxide inks, I painted in the flowers. Do you see that cute little heart in the center of the violets. Love the detail!
Once the watercolor work was dry, I used stamped the flower cluster over top with versamark and heat embossed with Gina K Designs detail white embossing powder. The line art detail layered over top of the watercolor work is perfection! Yes? I love the versatility of this set.
I stamped the THANK YOU sentiment from Beth Silaika’s Emma + Riley set on the moth in Melanie’s set to create a little interactive element to attach to the card. How fun is that?
Beth Silaika has designed this super fun set called Emma + Riley Flamingos. Not gonna lie, this set is so much fun and I love, love super love all the sentiments. They are so many great sentiments to use in any stamped project in this set. The flamingos are super fun to stamp and color.
My girly twirly is a soccer girl and has been playing since she was 5. So, we have a lot of soccer going on all the time. That includes birthday parties, events and more…all the time. She helped me whip up this design to give to one of her friends at a recent birthday sleep over. It was a hit. And, well, 14 year old girls still love cute things. That’s a relief. ?
Here’s a detail shot of the soccer balls. I used the new Crystalline Drops to give the soccer balls a glossy accent. The square, and circle stamps from Melanie’s Stately Flowers set make the perfect fun, confetti like addition to this card. I just heat embossed them to make them pop along with the white paint splatter for more detail.
Remember the watercolor effects I used in the card above using Melanie’s set? Well… I used the left over color on my craft mat, spritzed it with water and laid this piece of watercolor paper in it to create the colored background for this card design. Fun, colorful and it cleaned up my mat at the same time. HA!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the project inspiration today. There are so many great projects on this hop. So much goodness. What a wonderful way to start a Monday and the week. There are three days of projects this week, so be sure to stop by tomorrow and Wednesday as well.

Your watercolor backgrounds are fantastic. I like that you white embossed the flowers over some of the colorful background, too.
